Our vision is to
capture the Legacy of the Showgirl and production shows for which Nevada
is world famous. The project connects the visual and performing arts with
a stunning combination of Arts and Costumes that reflect the magic and
history of this marvelous era. Timeless and everlasting.
The Art Competition is an
extension of the third Annual Cast and Crew Reunion, the first Cast and Crew
Reunion was held at the Stardust Hotel and Casino in September 2006. Six hundred
and fifty performers and entertainers gathered together to celebrate five
decades of entertainment and the rich history that is the soul of our city. The
2010 Las Vegas Showgirl Art Competition will award $500 in prizes, it will
be promoted locally through the schools and in the arts community in both Las
Vegas and Reno. The artwork of the top 25-35 artists will be on display at
select venues to be announced. It will also be displayed at the fifth
Annual Cast and Crew Reunion. The 2007- 09 Artwork was on display at the Nevada
Historical Society in Reno, the Nevada State Museum in Las Vegas, Barnes & Noble, second and third Cast & Crew Reunions, and Presidents
day weekend at the Primm outlet Mall, with a fashion show of gowns and costumes from the production shows.
The 2010
Las Vegas Showgirl Art Competition deadline to submit artwork is July 20, 2010.

unique and magical history.
